Hello Family!
I'm not kidding. It's been 80 all week and my hair has been curly every day. The theme song this December for all the missionaries is "White Christmas" because the chance of snow or even a slight chill in the air on Christmas day is just a dream. We've been listening to a lot of Christmas music and seeing a lot of lights, but it feels weird because it still feels like September. Louisiana is just a weird place!

This week was great! Lots of random little happenings. The work as a whole is still going great. We were able to find Patricia and Raul AGAIN all together, which was a huge miracle. They're excited to keep learning and working towards being baptized in just under a month. We just need to get them to church now...
We had specialized training on Thursday this week, which is basically just zone conference, except we were combined with the English zone (in New Orleans we have two zones who cover the exact same area, but one zone is Spanish and one is English). We talked a lot about the new Christmas video and how to share it. We also talked about music in lessons which was cool because music is my favorite! Singing in lessons is already something we do though, so it wasn't super new. After lunch, we had kind of a little Christmas party and it was so fun! President read "Cajun Night Before Christmas" which was hilarious because he was doing it in his best Cajun accent, and we were all dying laughing! I really love President Hansen! Also, we did a white elephant gift exchange, but you couldn't buy anything. You just had to bring something from your apartment. You would be amazed at the things people brought. Missionaries are crazy! :) It was so fun and it was just nice to see a ton of missionaries and spend time with President and Sister Hansen.

After specialized training, we went on exchanges with the STL's. I got to go to West Bank with Sister Burns and it was so much fun! I love Sister Burns so much and I honestly fell in love with the West Bank. I still never ever want to leave Kenner, but if I have to leave, I'm praying for West Bank. :) I just met some amazing people. They were all sad when they found out it was just an exchange not a transfer. They said they're praying for me to come next transfer. We'll see what happens. Part of me feels like I'm leaving Kenner and going to West Bank..... but no one ever knows for sure. One cool thing we did on exchanges was teaching a lesson legitimately in the bayou. There were shrimp boats passing by and everything. It was awesome.
On Saturday night, we had the stake Christmas fireside/nativity. I have to say I was a little disappointed, but I'm so biased because of the amazing Kaye-shows (I mean stake music firesides..) that I've been a part of for so long. But it was still really sweet. They invited a Catholic Priest from the area to come talk which I thought was awesome of the stake. He did a good job so ten points to him! After the little program (which I had to play a solo at), there was a live nativity outside. With real animals and stuff! They had llamas and goats and chickens and a donkey and a little pony. The kids were kind of loud through the whole thing because they just kept trying to pet the animals, but still, it was so cool to see it all acted out like that. We sang lots of songs during it which was awesome. Christmas is just the best!
Other random happenings this week were going to a 10 year old's birthday party, working at a food bank with a bunch of hilarious old ladies, going to another Christmas lights thing at Lafreneire Park, learning how to play Monopoly with a less active family we see every week, having to get the oil changed in our car, planning a wedding for Sister Gerrero's son, sweating in December, getting up the courage to take care of a cockroach in our apartment, and listening to a whole lot of the Pentatonix Christmas CD. Good times! :)
I hope you all have an amazing week!! I love you all so much and I pray for you all the time!
