HELLO!
OHMYGOODNESS I'M SO HAPPY I'M STAYING IN KENNER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have no idea what I did right to be able to stay for ANOTHER transfer (or maybe I keep getting it wrong haha) but holy smokes I'm so pumped!!! I'm sad though because Sister Johnson is getting transferred up to Baton Rouge, which is a completely different zone, so I won't be able to see her as much. However, my new companion will be Sister Portzline! Literally an answer to prayers because since we got in the mission (we came in together) we've been praying to be together at some point, and now we get it! And we get to be together in KENNER! What in the world?! The craziest part is that even though we're two of the newest sisters still, we've been called as sister training leaders, which is kind of like sister zone leaders. I don't really know why President thinks we should be the STL's, but I trust him, and I'm excited for the opportunity to serve our zone (actually we're over two zones). Have I mentioned how excited I am to stay in Kenner?!

This week was actually pretty dead. Everyone decided to go out of town in between Christmas and New Year’s, so we couldn't see a ton of people. We mostly saw less actives this week, which was good because we've been needing to follow up with a lot of them. Seriously people, never leave the church! It's so much harder to come back. And the longer you wait, the harder it is. I've been reading a lot of conference talks this week and I loved the one about the Old Ship Zion by Elder Ballard. It's so true-- we just need to hang on! I love all of our less actives though. Even though they struggle and it breaks my heart to see them set goals and then not keep them, they all have such good hearts and they're all still amazing people.
New Year’s was pretty uneventful. We were out working all day, with not much success, and then that night we had another party with our district. We just played games and ate food. We felt bad that the elders always just eat fast food, so we made them dinner (Southwestern Chicken Pie-- my favorite!) and we had chips and dip. It was great! We had to be in at normal time of course. We stayed up until midnight, not really by choice. I'm not sure if fireworks are actually legal here, or if people just don’t care, but holy smokes. ALL NIGHT LONG there were HUGE fireworks! I'm talking fireworks like you see at big community shows. And they were everywhere! You look out over the houses and you see at least 20 different shows going on. And then at midnight?! Holy smokes. It sounded like an armageddon! You could hear SO many fireworks going off, and we could see a ton because we're on the third floor of our apartment building. Someone across the street from us had a huge show and it was right by our window. It was awesome! We were so tired though so we went to bed after midnight, but the fireworks kept us up for a while. Finally, we fell asleep, but when the alarm went off at 6:30, there were definitely still some fireworks going. People are crazy.

Not much else happened this week I'm afraid... we still taught a lot, but nothing is really standing out right now. Some downers of the week were Zita, our cool referral/contact from last week dropping us randomly, and finding out that Juan Pablo is going mildly inactive (long story). So yeah not the best news of the week, but hey, that's life. I'm still loving every second here! We were setting new year's resolutions and it was crazy to think that this whole next year I get to be a missionary! 2016 is going to be the best yet, I just know it :)
I love you all so much! Have a great first week back at school/work/real life. And may the Broncos not fail epically in the playoffs! :)
Con amor,
