Hola Hola!
This week I have gained such an appreciation for Spanish hymns! I mean they're the same songs as in English, but it just feels so much cooler singing in Spanish! One of the coolest experiences I've had here is playing Called To Serve while 500 something missionaries sing!! Also I play for the CCM choir and yesterday for devotional we did a medley of Hark All Ye Nations and I Hope They Call Me on a Mission, and the piano part was so cool and it was just amazing! The senior Hermana here that is in charge of the music is exactly like Kaye Craig, so you can bet I'm having a great time! We became best friends in the first week and now she has me play for everything! She even made our whole district homemade chocolate chip cookies on Sunday and brought them to us warm! Her name is Hermana Gill and she's just the best! Also, all of the CCM presidency's wives are just the cutest, sweetest people ever! Every week as we walk into Sociedad de Socorro (Relief Society) they just give us all big hugs! It's always much needed. We're really good friends with Hermana Call, who is the wife of the 2nd counselor at the CCM. She is like our surrogate grandmother/mother here and we find her all the time just to talk! Basically the CCM is better than Disneyland because this is truly the happiest place on earth! Everyone says hi to everyone, and everyone is just so happy and nice all the time! I love it!

Anyways, I guess y'all are pretty used to this by now, but this is going to be another email of random thoughts because every week here is essentially the same. 12 more days though and I'll be off to Louisiana! Crazy!
So I have never felt so much American pride as I did on the fourth of July! Which is crazy because I'm in Mexico, but it's true! All the Americans wore red white and blue (literally EVERYONE! Even some of the Latinos wore red white and blue too!), and for lunch the sweet Latino cooking staff made us really good hamburgers, grilled chicken, french fries, apple pie and ice cream, and they had trays of red, white and blue fruit with whipped cream! I can't even explain how happy everyone was!! Also, we sing a hymn in the morning before class, and at night before our night block of classes too, and we sang America the Beautiful and the National Anthem and our teachers just laughed at us but we did not care one bit! It was so awesome! I definitely missed the family barbecue and the fireworks, but this was the best fourth yet because I truly felt proud to be an American!

We were all sad to hear about the passing of Elder Packer last week. However we know he was sick for a long time and that he's where he needs to be! I've gained such a deeper appreciation for the Plan of Salvation on my mission as I've studied it more and been able to teach it and apply it very personally to people's lives. I can't wait to go tell everyone about this glorious plan!! Also I just love all the apostles so much! Last night our devotional was by an area seventy and his whole talk was about the apostles and missionary work and how there are so many similarities, and I just gained such an appreciation for those 12, or I guess those 15 sweet men and what they do. I feel so honored to be an extension of their call to minister to the people, and to join them in their work to represent our Savior!
Alright I think that's all for this week! Every day is just the best day of my life! Sure it's hard, but I feel so blessed for this opportunity and for the people I'm surrounded by and by the chance to study and teach this perfect Gospel every day! I love you all so much and I pray for you all the time! Hasta luego!
XOXO, Hermana Sorensen
