Buenas!
Whelp... we were not expecting this one at all... but I'm getting transferred. I was dead certain that I had one more here with Sister Burns. I'm super sad to leave her because she is amazing and I love her so much! I'm also so sad to leave Houma because it is just starting to blossom, and I adore the people so much. I'm also leaving the NOLA zone for the first time in my mission, so that's kind of sad too. BUT here are the positives: My new companion is not new at all because it's SISTER ALDER! Yep. After 6 weeks apart we're getting put back together. CRAZINESS! I'm so stoked because she is my favorite ever. So are all of my companions! Also, I'll be in a Spanish branch again which is super nice. I'll be in the same district as the temple, which I'm so excited about because I have only been to the temple once in my whole mission, and that was back when I was being trained. I know that I'm supposed to be in Baton Rouge for the next little while. I know that Heavenly Father has something for me to do/learn up there, and I'm excited to find out what it is. I would be lying though if I said I wasn't a little heartbroken to be leaving the bayou. I can't even imagine what it's going to be like to go home because just transfers are rough because you feel like you leave a huge part of your heart in every area.

Given that I now have until about 7:30am tomorrow to pack and say goodbye, this will be kind of short. The tender mercy of the week is that we ended on our best day ever yesterday. Like I said last week, we were determined to find a whole family to teach this week. On Sunday night, we were doing numbers and we were kind of discouraged because it wasn't what we wanted, and we hadn't found any new investigators. I really felt like I was going to be writing you and President about an awesome new family this week, but on Sunday night there was nothing. However, I forgot that this is transfer week, and our p day is on Tuesday. So yesterday we went hard trying to find new people and guess what? We got our family! They live on a street that we've tracted many times, but somehow we never contacted them. We felt like we should do it, so we used 3 seconds of courage and just went. And guess what? They let us in! It was an older lady, her daughter with her daughter (the old lady's granddaughter), her son and his wife and two kids. We taught them the Restoration and they kept saying, "Oh wow, I had no idea! Of course that would be true!" The best part is that they are from Honduras. Woohoooo!!!!! Now I'm just sad I'm leaving and I can't see what happens, but I know it was a tender mercy of the Lord and that we were definitely led to them.
The rest of this week was filled with random things from a trip to Grand Isle because we needed to see a less active who lives close to there, a mid-Christmas district party because it was June 25, and a funeral for two elders who are going home (complete with a 21-gun salute by 7 elders with the little popper firework things). Oh the mission craziness!

I love my mission so much. I'm sad to leave Houma, but I'm so excited for my new adventures in Baton Rouge. I'm sure I'll have lots of pictures and stories to tell next week. I hope you all have the best week ever and enjoy the non-humid weather because turns out if it's 100 degrees with 75% humidity that means it actually feels like 146 degrees outside. Not even an exaggeration. We saw a chart that does the conversions. 146 people!
I love you all so much!!
