Hello Fam!
Another blazingly fast week, and more celestial, low 80's, light breeze, zero humidity weather. We literally walk outside every morning and just stand there and breathe in the wonderfulness. Heaven knows it will only last for a few more days, but I'll take what I can get.
Honestly, I can't remember a lot of what happened this week, because I feel like we were just running from one thing to the next and didn't have a chance to hardly breathe. We had a zone meeting that was pretty good, did a lot more flood clean up, and taught people like crazy. The thing is, none of this feels that crazy anymore. I'm so used to just being busy and being on a tight schedule. Free time? What is free time? It sounds painful. :)

Here is my super-duper cool story of the week though. We had a lesson planned with our super golden family (they're doing awesome by the way! Still reading the Book of Mormon and praying about a baptismal date!) and they cancelled about a half hour before because they couldn't get off of work in time. We were kind of bummed, but we started thinking of people we could visit, and a lady named Reina popped into our head. Reina was a referral from the elders. They met her in the street by her house, so the elders gave her to us. We had an amazing first lesson with her! So Reina popped into our heads, and at first we thought well... she lives pretty far south, and we've been pretty far north today, so miles could be an issue... but we both felt like we should go see her. I looked through the phone to find her number and see if she was home, and it wasn't saved. So then we wondered if it was worth it to go all the way down there if we didn't know she'd be home. But again, we really felt like we should see her. I kid you not, we were stepping out the door, when we get a call from a random number, and when I answered it, do you know who it was?? REINA! She had our number on the back of the Restoration pamphlet that we had given her the last time. She said, "Hi Hermanas! I don't know what you're doing right now, but I just had the strongest feeling to call you, and I really want you guys to come over if you're not busy!" Our jaws hit the floor. First, NO ONE ever calls US to set up an appointment! Second, what are the odds?! I'm telling you, coincidences do not exist.
So we went to her house and had a great Book of Mormon lesson, and we even got through most of the Plan of Salvation as well. She loved everything so much. When we gave her the Book of Mormon, it was like we had just given her the Christmas present she had always wanted. You could just see the light in her eyes. We asked her to be baptized, and she said that she would love to. We're going to set a date with her this week. Here's where it gets real crazy! When we were talking about the Book of Mormon, I felt prompted to share a scripture in 1st Nephi and how it helped me when I was on the plane here to Louisiana. I hardly ever share that story, just because it was small and random. But I just felt like I should do it. Rewind to that plane ride, I was sitting next to Sister Castro (my current companion) as I was reading that scripture! And it was weird because when we met, I totally knew we were going to be companions someday. Don't know how. I just felt like we would be companions. Also, both of us got this strong feeling during our lesson that we already knew Reina. We're already so close to her, and she feels like family, even though we literally just met her. I know that there are no coincidences, and that Sister Castro, Reina, and I were supposed to meet at this time. I. LOVE. MISSIONS.

Another random fun fact about my mission and why I love it, I realized this week that I have kind of served in about 10 different missions. This week we had Honduran food, Guatemalan food, El Salvadorian food, and more that I can't remember. I've picked up phrases from so many different countries, and I can make food from a lot of them too. I've loved learning about all the different cultures. Not to mention how different Louisiana culture is! People here always ask me what we eat in Colorado and I always say umm... hamburgers? chicken? apples? Everyone knows Louisiana food, from gumbo, to etouffe, to crawfish. It's literally like a different country here! I just love it all!
I hope you all have an amazing week! Enjoy the pretty leaves and the rise of the Cougars! :) Les quiero mucho!
Con amor,
