Hi Everyone!
I hope you're all enjoying a nice non-humid memorial day! It is currently 90 degrees with 70% humidity and it's only 11 in the morning, and it's only May. So that's fun. We're already starting to melt and go through our closets and get rid of all the things that are anywhere close to warm.
In the spirit of summer, we went on a field trip to the beach this week. A less active member took us down the bayou to see someone who lives far away. She told us that we weren't far from the beach, so she took us down to Grand Isle, which is the end of Louisiana basically. It was so beautiful! In other random happenings, we learned how to be dog groomers. Oh the things you learn on a mission. I also got to be the primary pianist on Sunday, which is my favorite thing to do in the whole church. One of my not so favorite things is translating. We have to translate during Sacrament meeting every week and it's so stressful! I can translate when it's a conversation between two people because they pause and let you translate, but in Sacrament meeting people talk a million miles an hour. When I get behind, or if I don't know the words they're saying, I just start bearing my testimony about whatever the speaker is talking about. :)

This week was one of those weeks where the odds were just against us. We wanted to see a bunch of our investigators who live in this one part of Houma all week, and we planned on doing it every day, but every day something came up and we couldn't go see them. From being sick, to storms, to service projects that take way longer than you anticipated, and other random things. It was still a great week, we just couldn't do what we wanted to. I think it's God intervening and telling us "not yet" while He prepares our investigators, and future investigators, to receive the Gospel and be baptized. We finally got to see a few of them yesterday and Saturday, and we went tracting and found 4 new investigators and one whole new family that seem super promising. It was a huge tender mercy because we were kind of feeling discouraged after striking out so many days in a row. We know that God is preparing something huge for us though. We're excited that it's a new week and that we can try again and help more people come to Christ.
Sorry this is going to be short this week. This is what happens when storms chase you out of seeing people during the week. I'll write more next week because things should calm down significantly. I hope you all have an amazing week! Don't be afraid to talk about the Gospel in every day settings because the Gospel should be a part of our everyday lives anyways.
Con amor,
