Hello Family!
Well considering you all are in Mexico, I'm not sure I have much to top your adventures of the week. Thankfully, things have calmed down significantly since all the unrest in Baton Rouge a couple weeks ago. People are really starting to come together and love each other and be peaceful again, so that's refreshing. We've been able to see a lot more of our people this week which has been super nice after being grounded for a couple weeks. The only crazy part of our week was that there was some reshuffling of apartments, so we got moved (again) and we're living with Sister Okoren and Sister Crane now. They're our best friends so we're happy about the move, but it was still kind of annoying to have to take a day out to pack everything again and move. I'm hoping I don't have to move again any time soon!

One of my favorite things this week was the lesson we had with Carmen. I'm sorry if any of you are getting annoyed with how I talk about her every week, but she is our most progressing investigator right now and every lesson with her just pumps me up. This week, we finally got to meet with her and her husband and all of her kids at the same time. We taught the Restoration and it was incredible. Neither I nor Sister Alder remember much of what we said in that lesson because the Spirit was unbelievably strong and He was absolutely the one speaking the whole time. During the whole lesson both Carmen and Cesar were intent on the lesson, and when we told them about Joseph Smith, they both said that it just made sense. Carmen had heard it before, but Cesar commented, "I mean… it has to be right. Because like you said, this church seems to have it all together! I really believe this is the path God wants for me and my family right now." He. Is. Golden. When we got to the part about The Book of Mormon, Carmen bore her testimony of it and how it's so clear to her when she reads. She is not even a member, and her testimony brought the Spirit so strongly. At the end, she told us that she always loves when we come over and that she's loved every lesson, but this one was different because her whole family was together, and it felt more special. This truly is a Gospel for families. Even we could feel the difference in the lesson having everyone together. The Church is just true. It really really is.
I don't have a ton of time today, so I will just leave you all with one of the finer points of our lives. Yesterday (Sunday), I was on exchanges with Sister Crane again and we were driving to an appointment, jamming out to our "Called To Serve" MoTab CD, and a guy pulls up next to us blasting something with a super loud and deep bass. I commented that it was a funny addition to the song we were listening to, which was "Ye Elders of Israel." Sister Crane rolled down the window, and in the .5 seconds before she quickly rolled it back up, we heard quite the string of profanity from the neighboring song. Just as we rolled up the window and turned up our music, we heard "Oh Babylon, Oh Babylon" and then the light turned green, right as it sang "We bid thee farewell!" :) I don't know if that's funny to anyone else, but we got a pretty good laugh out of the timing of the whole thing!
I love you all so much! Have the best week ever! Remember to laugh really hard at least once a day and always look for the tender mercies, because they really are there.
Con amor,
Hermana Sorensen
