Bueno!!
Nope, still not real that I'm going home. Well, it's starting to feel like the end is coming, but not NEXT WEEK. What. This week, though, was the first time it hit me that there is an end to this. In our mission, in the last zone conference of the transfer, all the missionaries who are going home bear their testimonies, and it hit me like a ton of bricks that I was one of them this time. I've gone 18 months listening to all the people going home, and thinking, "man that will never be me, thank goodness!!" ....Well it's me now. So that hit me pretty hard, but after that we went out and taught some people, did some tracting, had a service project, and I forgot all about it. So yes, it hit for a split second, but thankfully it left, because I still have time left. And it's going to be the best week ever!

This last week was awesome!! We had a ton of service projects fall within the same week, so that's pretty much all we did. We helped people in their yard, gave tours at the Old Governor's Mansion and at the Old State Capitol, and helped at a huge event at the Old State Capitol. It was this whole "Light the City" thing where all of downtown was lit up, and there was a parade where Santa comes and lights the 35 foot Christmas tree, and when he does, there are fireworks. And where were we during the fireworks, you ask? ON TOP OF THE OLD STATE CAPITOL. Yep. We watched a sweet fireworks show from the ROOF of a CASTLE. It was probably one of the coolest things ever. After that, we helped inside the Castle as Santa walks into the Senate, and meets thousands of kids. We were doing crafts with them after they talked to Santa. Three hours of tracing little kids' hands.. good times. It was so fun to talk to a ton of people and help them feel a little Christmas cheer. Everyone just kept talking about how this Christmas is so special because after the flood, people lost everything, but now most people are back on their feet, and they're just grateful for family and a roof over their heads. The floods definitely changed this city, but I would say it was for the better. After the event was over and we were helping to clean up, we talked to the one and only Santa Claus for a little while. He was asking us about ourselves and what we do as missionaries and stuff. It was cool and also really funny! :)
You know, you get to this point on your mission, and everyone only has one question - "You're going home!!! How do you feel???" Well, I have no idea to be honest. It just doesn't feel any type of real. People keep asking me what I want to do in my last week, like if there's things I want to see or places I want to go, and I just tell them that honestly, I just want to be a missionary. I want to teach, tract, contact, plan, study, and love the people with every last second I have.
I love you all so much!! I hope you have a wonderful week! Make sure you "Light the World" this week. :)
Con amor,
Hermana Sorensen
