Buenos Dias!
I just love conference so much! As I've gotten older, I've definitely come to appreciate it more and more, and now especially as a missionary it's even more amazing! It's crazy how the prophet and apostles and other leaders can be speaking to millions of people, but we can all get very personal answers and direction. To me, it seemed like the theme of the whole conference was being agents in our own progression and trying to be more perfect. I loved the challenge to ask "what lack I yet?" and then to do it. I loved how all of the messages were basically "If you know you need to, just do it!" That's what we try to help our investigators and less actives do all the time, to just read, or just pray, or just go to church. It takes a lot of faith but it gets easier and easier every time we just take the step and just do it. I also loved Elder Durrant's challenge to "ponderize" every week. I'm definitely going to do it and I would encourage everyone else to do it too! There is so much power in the scriptures. All we need to do is look for it! I also loved Elder Holland's powerful talk about women and motherhood! It got all of the missionaries crying because we miss our moms and are all so grateful for our own angel mothers who are hugely responsible for us being where we are right now! Overall, conference was amazing and a definitely needed spiritual boost. Also, it was a nice break to just be with all the missionaries and some people from our ward and the English ward. I made my family's homemade mcmuffins for our district. Grandma, thank you for your recipe, you made a bunch of elders very happy! :)

The work is progressing more and more every day! The other night we had a really awesome lesson with a part-active family. The wife and her mom who lives with them are super active. The husband went inactive about two years ago. Not really sure why. We taught about the Plan of Salvation with a huge emphasis on eternal families. It's hard to describe how strongly we felt the Spirit! We testified of how we made promises to our families before we came to this life that we were going to make it back to heaven together. It's so true that when we testify and teach about something, we learn it deeper. I felt prompted to share my family's experience with my sister Jessica and her crazy back/abdominal surgery, where she miraculously was able to come home two days before Christmas. At first, I didn't really know why, but as I talked, the Spirit filled the room and even though I was telling my story, the words were definitely not mine. As I got to the end of the story, I testified that that experience strengthened my testimony of eternal families so much because of the complete joy we felt to just be able to be together on Christmas. We didn't care about anything else that Christmas besides just being together. It gave me a glimpse of how it will be to all be together in heaven someday. I never really thought about it that way before until I said it. It's true though. I love my family more than anything and I'm so grateful that even though I'm away from them for a while now, it's nothing in comparison to the fact that I get to be with them eternally!
I love being a missionary! Miracles are all around us and the Church is so true! Also, I love being able to teach piano! The members are getting so excited about it and are practicing so hard and making huge progress! It's crazy how much the Lord's hand is in this because there is no way they would be progressing without His help. It's always nuts trying to teach because I have a minimum of 4 students at a time usually, but somehow they're all learning and loving it and understanding the importance of music and playing instruments. We're also looking forward to having Juan Pablo's baptism this Saturday! I hope you all are doing well. I'll be looking forward to getting emails about what scripture you decide to ponderize this week. :)
